L'Oreal Colour Infallible: My Three Fave Lid Colours

Hi Guys,

I adore these shadows as a pressed pigment they have great colour pay off, fantastic staying power and I love the packaging. These are not easy to find in the drugstore at the moment, however these can be found easily on Amazon, Ebay and also in Discount Stores.

I realised recently there are three colours that I go back to again and again as my  Lid colour. One of these is great for a neutral eye, one just right for a cool eye and the other looks stunning with a warmer crease. They all have a slight shimmer to them as I love my mid to Shine!

Sassy Marshmallow

This is really a subtle silver, this can be brushed on to create a pretty neutral affect or placed on with the finger for full on glamour. This has small flecks of blue and pink in her and as a result it can look ever so blue in certain lights, however this is very subtle.

Tender Caramel

I bought this as I could not find Amber Rush anywhere and I had heard that this was quite similar. I can't really say whether it is or isn't but I adore it. Caramel is really the best way to describe it is a very light rich golden brown that is almost matallic. This is fab for neutral work eye.

Bronze Divine

The name describes it perfectly. This colour is stunning and I love to wear it with warm browns and greens in the crease. This is very pigmented and creates a great shine on and the lid. This was one of my first eyeshadows from this range and I love it.

Have you tried these shadows? Which ones were your favourites?

Tanya Burr Lip Gloss Review

Hi Guys,

First of all I know I am a bit late to the party, but anyone who knows me know that I am not a lipgloss person. I find normally that they have no colour, either don't stay at all or stay a long time but are so sticky my lips are uncomfortable the whole time. Make way for Tanya's glosses.

First of all these smell like cake, an instant winner. These can be bought online at Superdrug, Feel Unqiue or Instore at Superdrug. I have three colours Afternoon Tea (a pinky light nude),Picnic in the Park (a light true pink) and Lets Travel the World ( a red). None of these glosses have any shimmer in them.

The Good

  • Very pigmented, and they can be built up to be a an even full colour.
  • A great applicator, it is flat meaning it hugs the lips and also collects enough product so the wand is not going in and out of the tube.
  • A fab texture a bit like vaseline meaning not sticky.
  • Great staying power for a gloss. Lasts through drinks but not food and need repplying every three hours.
  • Not too expensive at £6.99.
The Bad

  • Cannot be used over top of lipstick as too full colour.
  • Clings to dry patches a little.
  • Can be overbuilt easy and look unflattering
This has been my best experience of a gloss so far and I keep going back to them. I am not saying they are perfect but they are quite pleasant to wear and that is the best I can hope for.

Have you tried these glosses?

OOTD: BBW, Bright, Busty Woman!

Hi Guys

Today I was feeling crap, in all honesty and so I decided to go nice and bright to cheer me up a little bit. This dress is one of my new ones from Boohoo and it is so comfortable, I also adore the way it looks. Fashion rules state that I shouldn't really wear this type of thing but I love it.

The little camera necklace was a couple of quid from Ebay and I love how tacky it is! The little shoes are from my £4.00  stash as Primark flats, they are really on they are really on their last legs. The bag is the gorgeous one my friend bought me for my birthday. The guitar is Thomas'!

This dress was a steal at just £7.00 and as I don't very often wear white it was a refreshing change. I also chose a cardigan that was slightly see through so that the design of the dress carried through. Thomas and I are still not perfect at taking pictures but we are getting better!

Cardigan: H and M £7.99
Dress: Boohoo £7.00
Leggings: New Look
Shoes: Primark £5.00
Necklace: Old Ebay

Kiko Radiant Touch Highlighter Review!

Hi Guys,

This is the second time I have written the post as the first time it went missing! So anyway there are two things I am obsessed with and one is Kiko and the other is Highlighter. I think highlighters make me look more awake, younger and they may be feel ready for the day. This is a stick hightlighter that comes in two tones, cool (the one I have) and warm.

Kiko can be bought at their website or one of there stores in the UK (I think there are six) and the only one for us Northern Girls is in Leeds.

The Good
  • This does not mess up my foundation (normally stick products like this can easily interfere)
  • Gives a lovely glow that is not too OTT, and blends brilliantly with the skin so that it looks almost natural.
  • The pink shade of this is perfect for my cool, very pale skin and I can see this really suiting others.
  • This is long lasting as long as it is set with some transculent powder or a radiance powder.
  • This is comfortbale on the skin an does not irritate
  • Good value of £8.90 and Kiko always have lots of deals on.
The Bad
  • If you are someone who likes to shop in person for your makeup this may be quite difficult for you to find.
  • If this is not set it will not last very long (but this is is the same for most cream products).
In short I love this product. It it easy to wear, looks great and does not ruin the ground work. I also love to wear this on a dried down liquid lipstick in the centre of my lips.

Have you tried any Kiko Products?

Cheshire Eats: The Golden Fleece Lymm

Hi Guys,

So after writing about the Hayhurst arms a couple of weeks ago I decided to try somewhere else nw, this time the Golden Fleece in Lymm. Now first of all this pub is not as expensive as the last one that I reviewed.

This place has just turned one year old and I have to say I was quite impressed. I had the Steak and Ale pie and Thomas had the Hunter's chicken. I believe that the main meals were £7.49 each (bargain) and they were really quite nice. I do not believe all of the foods were homemade - there was no claim one way or the other - but the goods were really great quality.

The desserts were also very good. I had the raspberry and blackberry crumble that was delicious and Thomas had the Millionaire's Cheesecake. The custard was a little cheap tasting and that was a disappointment.

The service was order at the bar so no tip was required and a lot of the waiters were young and quite awkward.

All in all this place was pleasant, the food was lovely and I would go again, but not for a special occassion.

Score: 4/5

Three Ways To Wear: The Basic Vest Top

Hi Guys,

Again my love for Polyvore is still going strong and I decided to use it yet again for my three ways to wear series. This time I am just looking at the Humble Vest Top. Again this post is less of shopping wishlist (where I look specifically at affordable clothes etc) this is an inspiration post. So I would look for clothes similar to this and create outfits form this.

Vest Top Casual

Here I have brought in one of my favourite items the Palazzo trouser. They are very comfortable and they can look really quite beautiful.

Vest Top Feminine Biker

I really like this look, the skirt is very girly and pretty, but the biker jacket really roughs it up. Add this to the rose earrings, the lipstick and the heels and this is gorgeous for nights out or even nice lunches.

Edgy Work

This skirt is sexy and smart, yet the tartan print keeps it current. This style can be bought from so many shops. Add this to the shoes and the jacket this is something that will really make you stand out from the crowd!

My Favourite Handbag Lipsticks! Collab with Alice Red

Hi Guys,

So the other day I left the house without lipstick, however due the huge number of lipsticks that hang around in my handbag I had plenty of choice. After chatting Alice about it we decided to do a collab and both write about our favourite handbag lipsticks.

Now I am very much a matte, lipstick type person and she is quite different so it will be fab to see what Alice picks.

So here are my top three.

Bourjois -The Velvet Edition Rouge in Nudist

I am not sure if you can tell by the pictures but this is possibly my favourite lipstick of all time. It is a beautiful dark pink nude and it is so easy to wear. It is a matte liquid lipstick (love of my life) and this is one of my favourite formulas. I throw this on with what ever the outfit and it just goes. The applicator is short and small so it can be quite difficult to make a mistake.

Maybelline - Super Stay 24 Bold Matte (Any Shade)

I have four of these and every single one is very well used. I often have Peach Cocktail is my bag but most of the time I just have all four. These pack an amazing colour punch are fantastic to apply and even come with a balm. This is fab for when I forget my carmex! I have been using these lipsticks for years and for me, these are really the original liquid lipstick.

MAC - Creme Cup

This is not the first time that I have mentioned this lipstick on the blog and it is with good reason. This light pink nude is in the Creme Sheen formula and is not only stunning on but is so comfortable. I often carry the ELF lip liner in nude pink too and they are just the perfect nude lip combination. I cannot praise this lipstick and as always nudes go with everything!

So remember to check out Alice's post and let me know your favourite handbag lipsticks!

How Much is My Face Worth -Dramatic Edition

Hi Guys,

After the shock of my previous how much is my face worth post (I did not think it would cost that much!) I decided to do a dramatic version, to see how much it would change for a night out/special occassion.

Inglot Brow Powder: £4.50
Inglot Brow Gel: £4.50

Total: £9.00

Milani Eye Primer: £6.00
NYX Nude Matte Shadow in Confession:£5.00
NYX Single Shadow in Irises: £5.00

Kiko Water Shadow (used as liner) in 213: £8.90
MAC Fix Plus (used on brush to transform Shadow): £14.50
W7 Eyelust Mascara: £2.00
Maybelline Illegal Lengths Mascara: £7.99

Total: £63.37

Nivea Moisturising Primer: £8.00

Bourjois Little Round Pot in Ashes of Roses: £7.99
Milani Multi Use Powder in Light: £6.00

The Body Shop Colour Crush Eyeshadow Single Review

Hi Guys,

So I decided to finally treat myself to something from the Body Shop makeup range. I have been looking at it for such a long time but has never taken the leap and actually parted with some cash. When I did I decided an eyeshadow was just what I needed (sorry wanted) and I picked up Sweet Pea, which is a beautiful pale green with a satin finish.

I have now used this a couple of times on my crease and feel like I can properly review it.

First of all this is one of the smallest singles I have ever seen, don't get me wrong there is the fairly standard 1.5g in here but the packaging is so small. Two of these together would makeup a Color Tattoo, so it can be really hard to find in my makeup bag! To be honest I love that it's small it means I can fit more in my collection.

The texture of the shadow is so buttery it really isn't too different to a number of high end brands I have tried and is one of the easiest shadows to blend. The pigmentation is excellent and the staying power (with a primer as always) is perfect - it lasts the whole day.

The costs £7 each - which may seem a little pricey - but they often have a 'buy one get half off ' deal and if you have a loyalty card you get 10% off anyway.

This is my top eyeshadow single at the moment and I would recommend this a dozen times - infact I will be purchasing some other colours!

Three Makeup Brands I Haven't Tried.. But Want To!

Hi Guys,

I am a makeup addict. There is no two ways about it. I buy a lot of makeup but tend to be a creature of habit and stick to the same brands. This means that a lot of brands have been ignored by me and it is time for this to stop.

I have only included here brand that can easily be bought in the UK.

Bare Minerals

I have never tried mineral makeup at all. From any brand. It is really their eyeshadows and blushes that intrigue me from this brand. They are always really well reviewed on Youtube and the quads have some really interesting colours. I do quite like the look of Well Rested too!

I know this is still quite a new brand, but their primers are meant to be so good. The background for this brand was photography and the primers were to prevent touch ups. I am little put off by their eyeshadows ad I know that people love the Photo Op Shadows, but the others are meant to be a little disappointing.

I have used their blemish balm for some time and I really do enjoy using it. I have not tried any of their makeup, however and the Colour Pop blushes are not only gorgeous looking but pigmented too. I know this brand is a staple for so many women.

What brands do you want to try?

Another Bargain Bardot! Curvy OOTD

Hi Guys,

I am obsessed with the bardot neckline and when I saw this one on Amazon (for about £4.00) I couldn't resist and quickly grabbed this one. First of all this is one of the comfiest items of clothing I have ever worn and I love the way it looks. It sits just right mid calf and I love the way it makes my legs look.

I just know I am going to get so much wear out of this, I am also wearing another pair of my £4.00 Primark Flats.

Dress: Amazon
Vest: (you can just see the straps on my shoulders) Primark
Shoes: Primark
Legs: My own in very pale

Three Ways to Wear a Pencil Skirt this Summer!

Hi Guys,

I have been on Polyvore again, I am absolutely obsessed with this website! The pencil skirt is one of the favourite items in my wardrobe and I own all sorts of colours and styles. Similair to my other three ways to wear I have picked three totally different ways to wear them.

Work Ready
I love the style of this skirt the print is so cool yet still sexy and the red flashes really amp it up. This time I did not pick from specific shops I just picked what I liked. Similar styles can be found from other places.

Sports Luxe
This outfit is very comfortable and I love the sports vibe. The shoes with the wedge inside keep it glam, while the rest of the items keep it cool and comfortable.

Summer Casual

This is my favourite outfit of them all, I love the hot pink jelly sandals and the skirt is so pretty. The top is also nice and boho and would look stunning even with my milk bottle legs.

How do you wear your pencil skirt? Let me know in the comments below.

W7 Photo Shoot Foundation Review

Hi Guys,

So as I have mentioned in a previous post I have not really tried any of W7's range before and I decided (after reading a huge number of positive reviews) to try some of their products out. I had a looked on their website after buying these and they have a massive range of products, a huge number being dupes.

The Good
  • This blends into the skin really easily
  • Provides just the right coverage for me, it deals with colour correction but still lets my freckles show through
  • Even though the shade is Shad Beige this is a really good colour match
  • Great Lasting Powder
The Bad
  • I have normal skin and it makes me look really greas. This has never happened with a foundation before for me. This is definitely for oily skins to avoid.
All in all I am so disappointed. If it wasn't for the greasy affect I could live in this foundation, however the shine it creates is too much for me and makes me look almost dirty. I will try the other foundations from the brand however.

Have you tried this product, what did you think?

OOTD Polka Dots, Red and Blue

Hi Guys,

First of all I am annoyed that I didn't get any decent pictures of my bum, anyone who reads my blog normally know the love I have for backside! These pictures were taken at 615 on a Saturday morning and I was prepared to do my makeup on the train, which is why I am slap free.

You can't really tell in the pictures but I have been spending more time outside this year than ever before and I am very freckly this yeat. I love freckles and it makes me want to wear very like coverage foundation.

To continue on my H and M update I have kept an eye on them and I do believe they really are paying attention (in my local stores anyway) if it changes I will let you know.

The bag was a birthday present from a friend and when I next get paid I will be buying the same style but in a different colour.

This cardigan is just £7.99 and I have this style in 7 colours, so you will be seeing them again.

Dress: Old H and M
Leggings: New Look
Cardigan: H and M

Bargain Makeup Haul!

Hi Guys,

I live about five minutes walk from a Factory shop, but I very rarely go there. Living in small town there is nowhere to buy makeup and I have recently found myself in the situation where I do not have a decent mascara. On the way back from doing a bit of food shopping I decided to pop in and see what they have I was pleasantly surprised.

CK (Calvin Klein) Lip Gloss in Plum

I always seen CK makeup discounted, as this is a designer brand and sells in stores such as Debenhams for quite a hefty price tag I decided to pick this up here. At just £1.50 I thought it was such a bargain. I have swatched this and it was totally sealed when I bought it. It smells cheap, very cheap almost like children's makeup. It swatches ok on my hand but I haven't worn it yet. I will review it soon.

CK Eye Shadow in Copper Sun

Another CK item! This is a shimmery midtone brown with a copper base. When I have swatched it the colour pay off is fab and I can just tell this will be a great crease colour. This was just £1.50 and there new formula costs £12 at Debenhams. This range has been discontinued but a quick search online shows me that dozens of sites sell them. I think I am going to really enjoy this product.

Max Factor Aqua Lash in Brown

How annoying I got brown! Oh well, I can use this for more natural days, I am only got this for £3 and I am dead chuffed as there mascara cost more than a tenner normally. I haven't had the best of luck with Max Factor mascaras but I keep going back for more. We will have to see what this one brings!

W7 Sheer Loose Powder

I own three W7 brushes and nothing else from their range. In all honesty I have never been that attracted to them but recently I decided I need to give them a go. As I love loose powders I decided to get on in the lightest colour they had in stock natural beige it looks about right colour range and for just £3 I got 20g worth of powder!

W7 Photo Shoot Foundation

Now let's be honest I do not need another foundation, but something about this one just caught my eye and I want to try a bit of everything from W7's range. This is again in natural beige and is in a glass bottle , it is just a shame there is no pump. I can't wait to try this. This was just £3.

W7 Eyelust Mascara

This brush is massive and kind of reminds me of an old Scandaleyes mascara I used to have from Rimmel that I loved. I have a good time with cheap mascaras normally and I hope that this one follows in the footsteps of all the others, at just £2.

All this for just £14! What are your recent bargain buys?
