Cheshire Eats: The Hayhurst Arms in Bostock, Cheshire

Hi Guys,

I am going to do something a little different today- a restaurant review. Thomas and I go out to eat quite a lot and try and not to get in a rut. We do this by going to lots of different places and as we have such a large number of little country pubs in Cheshire we definitely have plenty of choice!

This was the first time that we had visited this place as it has only been open a couple of months, and we were really impressed. The dining rooms were spotless and a mixture of the modern and the traditional, and we soon knew we were right to book a table - they were nearly all reserved.

We sat down and straight away someone came with our drinks and then we looked at the amazing menu. I had a craving for a steak and kidney pudding and the one on the menu enticed me straight away. We ordered and within five minutes we had the food. Thomas had a steak sandwich and it look fantastic. My meal as served with mash potato and greens and baby carrots. There was also some delicious gravy too. The pudding was jammed packed with good quality steak and kidney and the suet was delicious.

We were not going to have dessert but after the success of the mains we could not resist. Thomas picked Sticky Toffee Pudding (I tried it and it was amazing) and I had the Hot Toffee Apple Waffle. The Apple was absolutely delicious, the sauce was sweet but not too sweet and the waffle and ice cream were amazing.

In all this a fantastic restaurant with yummy food, lovely staff and a great atmosphere. I cannot wait to go back.

Where have you been recently?

Helen xx
